This building had many lives. JP Morgan donated the building to the City of New York as a maternity hospital at the turn of the century. It was converted to a rehab hospital in the 1950's and then it was renovated again and became a unique residential building.
This space was a gut renovation - the duplex became a triplex…adding an additional bedroom and bath on the third level.
The ceiling height on the second level was able to be elevated which allowed more light to enter the apartment. Warm tones and built-ins enhanced the design. |
